International Children’s Day with a British Twist

In celebration of International Children’s Day, Snowy English Bintaro hosted a week-long cultural and language event from June 20 to June 26, 2025, with a creative British twist. This special event transformed regular classes into interactive journeys through the countries of the United Kingdom, combining English learning with fun, creativity, and cultural discovery.

Each day, students had the opportunity to “travel” to a different UK-themed classroom. The rooms were carefully decorated to represent iconic elements from Scotland, Wales, and England. Upon entering each classroom, students were welcomed into a new cultural experience that supported both language development and curiosity about the world.

In the Scotland room, students explored famous landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle and the Loch Ness. They participated in art and craft activities inspired by Scottish culture. Older students also took part in a simple cooking session, where they prepared a light dish with guidance from their teachers  turning the classroom into a hands-on culinary space.

Moving on to Wales, learners discovered the uniqueness of the country through fun facts, maps, and games. Teachers introduced Welsh symbols and traditions, while students played interactive games designed to build vocabulary and teamwork in English.

The tour concluded in England, where students took part in a British-style tea time while watching a classic UK fable video. The session was delivered using British accents to enhance students’ listening skills and give them a taste of authentic English. The relaxed atmosphere helped students absorb the language naturally while enjoying a culturally rich experience.

One of the teachers, Ms. Aulia, shared her impression of the event:“This is our first time holding an International Children’s Day celebration because we’re still a new branch. At first, we weren’t sure how it would turn out, but it ended up being so much fun even though the preparation took a lot of energy. For me personally, it was such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.”

The event proved to be more than just a celebration  it became a powerful learning opportunity. Students not only practiced their English in context, but also developed confidence, creativity, and cultural awareness. The combination of educational content, hands-on activities, and themed classroom tours made the experience engaging and meaningful for all ages.

With positive feedback from both students and teachers, Snowy English Bintaro hopes to continue creating memorable events like this, where language and culture come together in joyful, interactive ways.
