The 14th floor, narrower and warmer than the original venue, only heightened the tension. Students sat silently in rows, some flipping through notes, others quietly whispering prayers. The examiners, stern and focused, were ready to dissect each title presented before them.
As the defense began, the pressure was palpable. Some students were asked to clarify or even restructure their research focus. Questions came quickly and critically. Many presenters stumbled, their nerves evident. But soon, the atmosphere began to shift. After a few well-prepared students confidently defended their proposals, smiles began to reappear. The panel grew more engaged, and a sense of hope returned to the room.
“Alhamdulillah, at least I got one title approved,” said Syafira, one of the participants, smiling in relief after her turn. She admitted being nervous when asked to explain the specificity of her research focus, but with a few adjustments, her title was accepted.
By the end of the session, the fear that once gripped the room had turned into shared laughter and quiet celebration. Students exchanged supportive words and walked out with lighter steps. What began as a day full of tension ended in relief and success. One by one, they took a significant step forward in their academic journey with a story worth remembering.
